I predict a very large learning curve in my future ;).

  1. How cool! What are you planning on spinning? And where did you find that?

  2. The picture is blurry and I cannot read the title of the book. What is it?

  3. The spinning wheel is the HitchHiker from the Woolery.

Once I learn to use it, I'll be spinning dog and rabbit fur - since that's what I have ;).

  4. I just saw your post about your new tool. A member of a Yahoo Group I belong to mentioned that there will be a fiber event in Freeport, ME. at the end of February. "There is a large gathering of knitters/spinners/crankers/what-ever that will be in Freeport ME at 3 hotels. It's a kiss principle. All are welcome. Just getting together to play with wool. No Registration, No cost. No schedule." If you would like more info I can get in touch with the person who posted, I find at gatherings like this you may find help and inspiration and others of a like mind.
P.S. I can pass along a post that a friend wrote recently about yarn and projects made from fiber spun from her canine friends

  5. @back80 - yes, please! If you're willing, you can post your contact info, or any info about the gathering. All of my comments are moderated, and I don't publish any personal contact information, unless the poster says it's okay :).

  6. @back80 - I have not heard from your friend about the fiber fest in Freeport. I'll keep my eyes open. :).

  7. @back80 - I heard from Barb, and I've emailed her. I'm looking forward to the Fiber Fest in Freeport - especially now that I've tried out my wheel and am getting a little frustrated at not having it work very well for me ;).

Thank you so much for the information and for your help in getting me connected to the right people.
