Thanks, Starcat ;). This is my third year participating. It will be fun ;).
@ FARf - Surviving the Apocalypse in the Suburbs ends with *Day 22*, which is a glimpse of how our suburbs could be after the crash. They're preparing for a wedding. The novel will begin some time before the wedding, telling the story of the times leading up to and following the crash, and will end with that same wedding. So, basically, I guess it's Surviving the Apocalypse in the Suburbs fictionalized ... at least we hope it stays fiction ;).
I'm growing roots, both figuratively and literally, in the suburbs of southern Maine with Deus Ex Machina, our great kids, a flock of suburban chickens, some whacky ducks, and a herd of rabbits.
In this eminently practical and thoughtful book, Wendy Brown takes on the challenge of exploring the options for surviving and thriving through hard times in the suburbs, and carries it off with aplomp. Highly recommended!
"Don't focus on limitations. Imagine possibilities." ~~Wendy
A THRIVALIST IS ...
... what you get when you cross a survivalist with a optimistic realist ... who likes to grow things ;).
The Gutenberg Project has compiled a database of some 30,000 books with expired copyrights, digitized them, and entered them into the public domain. These books are available for free download from the website.
If you missed reading the classics when you were in school, this is a good opportunity to get a free copy to read.

Sounds like fun! Good luck!
Good luck! What are you working on? Crafty Green Poet is doing a post-crash story set in her native Scotland.
Me? I'll just cheer everyone else on.
