Maine childhood memory....I still remember a late March or early April day back in 1984. There was still a few inches of snow in the shady parts of our yard but the temp had come up to the 40's that day. I was outside playing in shorts and a tee shirt.
Now the thermometer LOOKS at a picture of 55dF and I shiver. That's what 20 years in Texas will do to ya.
I see your leaves have fallen. Was the color good this year?
I'm growing roots, both figuratively and literally, in the suburbs of southern Maine with Deus Ex Machina, our great kids, a flock of suburban chickens, some whacky ducks, and a herd of rabbits.
In this eminently practical and thoughtful book, Wendy Brown takes on the challenge of exploring the options for surviving and thriving through hard times in the suburbs, and carries it off with aplomb. Highly recommended!
The Gutenberg Project has compiled a database of some 30,000 books with expired copyrights, digitized them, and entered them into the public domain. These books are available for free download from the website.
If you missed reading the classics when you were in school, this is a good opportunity to get a free copy to read.

Now THAT's gorgeous.
Hee hee. I know a shirtless boy who would get along well with them.
